Creating lovely spaces for kids.

There is so much emotion that goes into every single detail in a nursery. Making sure the space is comfortable, functional and stimulating for children, but we can’t forget the most important aspect when it comes to furnish your nursery, the safety.

What we all expect from a daycare center is to be a place that enables work in small groups and autonomy.

We need to take in account the diversity of the different needs of each child and must allow the discovery of their own abilities through:

  • Open, wide and interrelated spaces
  • Transparent and sunny spaces.
  • Educational spaces

The arrangement of the space must make possible the application of the pedagogical approaches of the center project but also accessible and safe space to meet childcare regulations and have appropriate environments for young children. Remodeling or building a facility can be very expensive if the client ignores or overlook design requirements for childcare centers, especially if they have to redo a section of the design before they can open or obtain proper licensing.

JACCO's International Child Care Center Design Checklist can help clients understand the types of space needed to care for children and will be a great tool to use as they work with architect or contractor.
